Ceramic
Ceramic is a magnificent material, perfect for withstanding kitchen wear and tear. It is both scratchproof and heat-resistant and has a very high tensile strength.
Ceramic is made of sand, feldspar, clay and natural pigments, compressed and fired at a temperature of around 1200 degrees Celsius. A fibreglass net is mounted on the underside of the 10 mm worktop to provide extra stability. The surface is sealed and requires minimal maintenance.
